Suddenly there're a lot of people around me create a blog and share their thoughts to each other publicly. Ya, everybody is doing this due to the demanding by our MUET teacher, Miss Jasmine. Well, I think this learning method is not bad. It's not only improve our English language but also encourage us dare to share our things to others. Before we used to write the essays only on a normal test pad, but now we change to write it on blog. I think this will be more interesting when we're learning to write an essay, as we're able to edit the blog layout based on our favourite edition too. Haha. I don't know whether the others feel the same way with me but, for me, different colours, pictures etc either in the book or website are able to catch my attention and increase my interests to read through the contents. (hmm...like a kid? ) Haha. But anyway, I believe that most of the classmates will adapt and like this learning method as this is a new try too. =) (even though it'll be a bit inconvenience for some of the students to use internet, include me, sometimes too.)
Being one of the students who is going to leave this school sooner, I think this will be my personal blog afterwards. =S Oh ya, I've already being an unfamous blogger user since December 2008. -.- Haha. But I'm not publishing my posts that often, and I've already editted the blog to a private blog already. LOL. I use to relax my mind and stress through blogging, typing, writing or whatever as long as there's a space such as a blank paper for me to "vomit" out my unpleasant. And almost all of my posts are in chinese. So, I assume this is my FIRST English blog and I wish I can persist my determination to learn English and publish the posts in English through this blog.
As one of the students who is going to leave too, I think I'm unable to do the online reflection which is all related to the teacher's demand. (Sorry...><) But, I'll still answer some of the questions which are related to the topic.
Q1: What do I expert from this class?
A: I hope all of you guys can interact well with one anohter. =) Study hard together and achieve all of yours goal in the comming STPM examination. By the way, pre-university life is just one and half a year. Wish all of you (wish me too ><) may own a meaningful pre-U life and grown up through this so-called "hardship" form six phases.
Besides, I think the pre-U teachers as well as MUET teacher also encourage us to be brave to speak out our mind, do talk more in front of the public, don't be too shy as well. For most of us, we're not adapt to speak publicly. Besides, we use to communicate with each others in mandarin and bahasa malaysia with malays too. With this, I hope the classmates can put more guts to speak English in front of frineds or the public. As many of us are not that proficient in English, I think at least it won't be too embarrass to speak broken English (maybe) in front of others. Make mistakes now is better than disgrace ourselves in the future.
Q2: What do I think about MUET (Malaysian University English Test)?
A: I think I get the idea about MUET after the SPM examination last year. As I wish to enter law faculty (just my current expectation) in the future, I wish to know more about the requirements for entering this faculty. After going through some websites, I get the information that we need to achieve a minimum Band 4 in MUET test in order to enter the law faculty. So, MUET test is much important for me if I want to do law afterwards.
What?! Band 4....I'm scared by this requirement after knowing that band 4 is not that easy to achieve. (Before I've searched one of the pass year's MUET reading test and I scored badly as the vocabulary I know is tooooooo...."few".<<<I use the wrong word I think? LOL)
And it feels worsen when I heard from one of my friend said that there're many people failed their MUET test in the university. (it's law faculty of a private university) Besides the requirement of the MUET test, the other requirements for law faculty are also tough and strict. However....I'm way obstinate (is this word i'm using correctly? I want to express the meaning of "degil")and just don't wish to give up too fast as government university is my first choice to enter. Though I know their condition to enter is extremely hard. So....just try to deal with it. ><
By the way, it's a lil ridiculous about my previous thought about MUET. Haha. As MUET is considered a TEST but not considered as one of the subject which taken in STPM examination, I thought there's never a MUET lesson in our school. I just imagine that when the date of MUET test is comming, the school teachers might just give some exercises for us to do, or just give some talks about the format of MUET test, and we have to straight sitting for the test and get the band as well. LOL.
So, in order to improve my MUET as well as English language, I choose to transfer to Malacca's school, art stream too because I wish to get an English-speaking environment as well. Before the intake of STPM, this plan is quite decisive in my mind. However, after knowing that our school actually provide MUET class, furthermore a good teaching environment and qualified teachers too, I started admire and prefer such this learning environment...it's very good as the teaching method suits most of our English level, and I like the teaching ideas conducted by Miss Jasmine too. Blogging and movie reviews, it's a more interesting way of learning. Plus maybe there will be a debate and public speaking too. Though I'm the one who don't have the guts to speak publicly too, but I also wish to develope this skill through my pre-U life. And I think this learning method is able to practice myself, dare to speak more in front of the public.
However, due to I want to switch to the art's, Malcca still being my plan to go too. And now, I have to go Malacca High School alone (FEAR) after the holiday (if I don't get matric after appealing), I don't know whether the MUET teacher there will be good or....only do lecture in front of the class, and the students just do the exercises like the situation during the secondary school? Anyway, wish me luck. Just hope the MUET class there will be not bad too. ><
As a conclusion, my friends, do cherish your MUET class as you guys have both experienced teacher and interesting teaching methods as well. =)
Q3: What do I expect from the teacher?
A: "For those who are leaving, I DON'T CARE lah....", this is what Miss Jasmine ever said in our school. T^T However, I wish to continue blogging here and go to others' blog too. =) So...can you don't kick me out from this group after I leaving? O.o And I hope you can read my blog as well, if you're available or free. =)
Besides, you said you're new and this is the first year you teach MUET. However, I think we all can see your determination in teaching and your effort to conduct the class as well. Thanks for the effort that you've put in teaching this subject. Although you've no experience in teaching this subject but I think you're still able to do it well by the effort you've been put in. I hope your passion in teaching will last throughout your life, and I believe you can get a lot of meaningful experience through your passion in work. =)
Errr....I use to be prolixity regardless in a normal conversation or even in the writing examination. zzz LOL. Hope that it won't make you guys feel dizzy, and your comments and correction for my English grammar are welcoming too. =) Thanks ya! Happy Holiday.
